03. Minutes of the Last Meetings.
The Minutes of the last GM held on the 6th of March and The
EGM held on the 8th of April 2014 were
agreed as true records and signed by The Chairman.
6th of March 2014
Proposed: David Humphrey Seconded: Sylvia Marler Carried: Unanimously.
8th of April 2014
Proposed: Angela Manners Seconded: Ania Driver Carried:
Unanimously.
Matters Arising from both meetings.
None.
05. Additions to the Agenda.
Devon County Annual Conference.
Dorset County 3 Year Plan.
06. Chairman’s Report.
Not present.
07. Vice Chairman’s Report.
Some of you might not be aware that Mr Kenneth Whetlor has
resigned as Chairman. As Vice-Chairman I will continue to chair the meetings
until The AGM.
I would like to put on record The Committee's and The
Branch's thanks to Ken for his nineteen years as Chairman, and we all wish him
a continued and speedy recovery. I propose a Branch Certificate of Appreciation
for Ken in recognition of his service to The RBL.
Proposed: David Manners Seconded: Ania Driver Carried: Unanimously
Events for The D-Day Weekend start with an open air service
at St Michael's at 06:00 hours on Friday the 6th of June, led by The Reverend
Jane Skinner.
A Variety Show on the Friday at Woodmead Halls, entrance £5.
Saturday the 7th a Swing Band Dance at Woodmead Halls, entrance £8. Both events
start at 19:30 hours and tickets are available from The TIC, who have agreed
not to charge a concession. We need collectors at these evenings. It has been
agreed that all monies raised throughout the weekend will go to The RBL.
For the D-Day Parade on Sunday the 8th of June I have
invited Standard Bearers from the county. The County Chairman and Parade
Marshal might attend.
The County Conference is to be held on Sunday the 11th of
January 2015. It might be an idea to organise a mini-bus if enough people wish
to attend.
I propose that our Welfare Account should be closed and the
money transferred to the General Account.
Proposed: David Manners Seconded: Angela Manners Carried: Unanimously.
I am working on the coordination of the six branches in the
South West Dorset Group, comprising of ourselves, Beaminster, Bridport, Bride
Valley, Birdsmoor Gate and Halstock. This will ensure good representation at
county. There is no opposition to the
idea; there is a logistical problem getting everyone to meet in one
location!
There will be a Quiz Night at The Nags' Head on Wednesday
the 21st of May.
The Dinner will take place at The Golf Club on Saturday the
14th of June. Spouses, partners, relatives and friends are all welcome.
Guest Speaker.
Mr Ian Jarvis gave a very informative presentation about
fund raising, bestowing a wealth of ideas about ways and means to hold
lucrative events.
08. Honorary Secretary’s Report.
The Kilmington Standards event will take place on Sunday the
11th of May at 15:00 hours, at the Village Hall Church.
The RBL Devon County Conference is to held on Friday the
16th of May.
The three year plan has been received from County and the
relevant aims will be presented at the next GM.
